how do I measure power 'cleanliness'?

An oscilliscope that has a peak/min hold or record feature could be left on in real time to show any spikes or large DC ripple

Opamp with diode and capacitor

To me, it looks as if the diode is simply for polarity protection @ DC. The Vcc is a reference voltage. That op-amp has a differential/comparator input.

*official* Oblivion Thread - Technical issues

Same here. I also get random crashes when I try to go through a door or gate. Its always random for me. Sometimes it will go hours without a problem, other times it will crash 5-6 times in a row before I can even play the game :(

7800 owners how do you feel?

I just gt my 7800gt co se for $239 after rebate. I would rather have the 7900gt, but at the price I got my 7800 for, I am not sad. Plus it overclocks really well. I am hoping that the 7800 prices drop down some so I can get a 2nd card for sli later on.

Got my new rig finished

7800GT 3DMARK05 Scores

I just got my new system built today. :) x2 4200+ (not oc'd), single 7800gy oc se (evga). I oc'd it with coolbits, then backed off just a tad to 516/1180. 3dmk03 was 16800 (stock was 15600). 3dmk05 was 8107 while oc'd. sweet card for that $239 deal at monarch, I am happy :) Now I need a...

nv silencer and amd HSF. Thermal pads or artic ceramique?

I have some artic ceramique thermal paste, should I scrape off the thermal pads that are pre-installed on the NV silencer and/or the stock amd HSF and use the artic stuff? Or do whatever thermal pads they come with already work pretty good. (x2 4200+ cpu). Anyone using the NV silencer 5...
