nVidia's Problems

My list of Nvidia "hits" The NV3X cards can only do 16bit VS2.0 in DX9.0...only in OpenGL can it do 32bit VS2.0 this makes all NV3X cards non-DX9.0 compliant as far as I'm concerned....but since when does the card run in 32bit PS2.0 anyway (AFAIK it's not in the spec for PS2.0). the NV30 can...

Ut2004 making my card act up

Personally I think that UT04 hits the GPU a bit harder than previous versions (even though it's supposed to be the 03 engine). I had to back my OC off a bit w/ a 9800p. Maybe they added a few DX9 features that are working the processor a bit more, don't know. Funny part is that it runs smoother...

Does FAr cRy game require a 256 mb card?

I'm not 100% sure if the v-card will help. It seems to me that the game is a memory hog, it doesn't seem to realease anything from RAM. If I play the demo over a few times I'll end up with an "almost out of virtual memory" message (512mb actual, 1gb swap). If I run through the game once I won't...

Overclocking a 2500 in a A7N8X Deluxe?

Exactly, past week 42(ish) there is no way to unlock them. If you can document how to do it then please head on over to OverClockers.Com & explain it. They pretty much disected the chip trying & I'm sure they'd love to hear about how to do it.

Where are the Quake3 Areno Demo results?

Simple and easy way: 1. Drop down the console (~) 2. Type in "timedemo 1" (w/o the quotes) 3. Run any demo under the Demo menu 4. Drop down the console & the last line will say the FPS

xp2500barton.....what stuff to buy!

Generally a good thing, can raise the FSB w/o moving your PCI bus into danger zones - corrupting you HDD for example. Just want to run it @ 3200+ speeds? Shuttle AN35N-U, $65 - will get you to 200, but not much beyond. Max OC? DFI Ultras or the Abit NF7-?

Looking into this 9800pro. Need some input please.

Sapphire OEM's for ATI so it should be as good as any 9800p on the market. I've heard tell that the RAM is Hynix, I'll tell you as soon as mine get's here today :) $225 for a 9800 pro? Damn good deal IMHO, great time to buy cards 5900's for under $200 & 9800's for just over. Edit: Just...

5900se(xt) 4 pipes? or 8?

Exactly, not an 8 pipe card by any definition I can imagine. Also, the NV3x core can do either 2 textured unite OR 1 FP unit per clock (it can't do 1 text & 1 fp /clock either - it's either/or). It is in no way shape or form an "8" pipe card.

Do you give a rats ass about Prime95?

Use Toast, it works the CPU harder than anything else I've ever found.

I should mention the the $170 9800np @ Newegg most likely has EntroTech RAM - it won't clock very well (reaching Pro speeds probably ain't gonna happen). acemcmac - I apologise if my post started the "ati punk" crap started, I was merely asking about un-happy 5900 owners. Personally I agree...
