Help me identify my mobo, please!

I found an old 486 mobo (actually a hole PC but without CPU). It has the following readings on M6724-B 9623 TONNEX 1-0 94V-0 and on other side rev. 05C It is a kind of slim pc with integrated video and the two SIMM sockets are tilted too. It uses AMI 486 DX bios. I would like to know who...

200 Front Side Bus or 266 Front Side Bus??

To Pederv: "Most 200 FSB chips will run on a 266 FSB bus" Does this mean Durons too?

Why do I hear my mouse moving on speakers ? HELP?

Can't listen any music on backround without the mouse movement anoying. It's really getting on my nerves. I have standard Logitech PS2 mouse and old ALS100 souncard. Tried even some newer drivers, but then computer started to lock up randomly. Any sugestions? Erki

RAM and ramdrive

I tried to play around with ramdrive (found some old papers when 4 Mb was a very biiig memory size). For my dissapointment I found out that I cant create bigger drive than 32000kb. But I can make several of them. I have 128 Mb of RAM. WHY does it do this?? Another question is next: Cacheman...

Duron vs. T-Bird

Can anyone say how big is the performance difference between these CPUs at same clockspeed? Or can anyone advise where could I find an answer to this question? Erki

SCSI card - ISA or PCI?

K6-233 to ???

I have Compaq Deskpro 2000 5200MMX, that has 200Mhz Pentium MMx processor. Its mobo has Compaq's name on it and it uses VIA's chips, some are Winbond's (someone guessed that IO or LPT or something like that). Mobo has switches to change bus speed 50-66 and mltiplier 2-3,5 but no switch to change...

How to cut/split mp3's or wav's

My question is following: I have 45 min. wav or mp3 file (one cassette's side). It was too annoying to record every song separately. Is it possible to cut them into song's length? And what to use? Erki

My mobo is Chaintech's 5AGM2 that has 512 kb cash on board. (its highest multiplier setting is 5,5x100 and I don't know if it supports 'new' k6-2+ and 3+) I suspected that it could be the movies problems, but when the guy from whom I borrowed the movies said that they shold work perfectly and...

Thanks for all these comments! I have an old ALS100 ISA soundcard, for watching movies I use mostly Windows Media player 6.4.07.1112 but also tried BSPlayer 081. I tried AngelPotions Videocodec V1 and DivX codec alpha 3.11. No change at all. The worst thing was WinMediaPlayer 7. Every setting...

I have K6-2 400@500, 128Mb RAM, ATI XPERT2000 32Mb, 10Gb Quantum Fireball. Not the worst PC I think. It works fine but when I want to watch some DivX movies, picture jumps awfully and sound is way ahead of film itself. But some movies play fine, also in good quality. File size is not relevant at...

Do Palomina and P4 need new mobos too?

It's good to know these things. So I think it is reasonable to pass Sockets A and 370 and wait till these beauties go to masses (come available and cost not so much). (Now having K6-2 400@523, plenty of HDD, 128Mb RAM and 32 Mb ATI XPert200) Erki
