    rickmann, go to setup and check the order of how you are booting up. my computer would not recognize the xp cd until i changed the order for it to attempt booting from the cd first.

    i fixed it!!! yayy. okay so basically i decided to try booting up with the xp cd again.. i couldn't boot up with the xp cd before because the order of how to boot up in setup was floppy, hd, and then cd.. so i switched it to cd, hd, floppy.. and it worked.. and then i did recovery...

    i can't boot from the cd. i tried the chkdsk /r already when i booted from the floppy and it couldn't find some file to complete the operation so it didn't work

    there was a power outage and now i cant get past that blue screen and it's not booting from the cd.. tried booting from floppy and doing the recovery console chkdsk and fixboot but to no avail.
