Li-Ion vs. NiMH Batteries

My dads laptop can use both, and the li-ions seem to last about an hour longer.

Poll: What chipset do you use on your primary rig?

Via kt133 on my main rig and the old reliable 440bx on my celly backup rig... man that bx just won't die :) I had an AMD Irongate for about three weeks, most worthless pos I have ever owned!

Final System comments very important to me please read!

I played Blood2 and Quake III at CompUSA on a Sony LCD and it was awful! If you can imagine that annoying look of your mouse cursor on your laptop - but the whole screen.

Question: what is the wrost thing you ever did while working on your computer?

pulled a controller card outa the mobo while the mac was still on, and it killed my mobo and the 486 dx66... this was in 1993.. brand new parts :(

Gaming Hardware Question:

Hmm nothing really wrong with the Voodoo 5 if you can find one, their not the fastest but they work with everything - 3dfx has always had good compatibility. I would personally get a good Nic, my number one choice is 3COM followed by Linksys.

Post your Quake III Scores

I picked up Quake III from my buddy for 10 bucks about three months ago, never really played it but I decided to do some benching today. 640x480x32 - 133 FPS 1024x768x32 - 94 FPS System: Tbird 850 @ 975 256 Meg PC133 GeForce DDR 135 / 335 [edit - turned vsync off - updated scores]

My GF2 Pro arrived...

Hmmm I know from working with the video out on my Viper II that you have to have all the video cables plugged in before powering on the system becuase the signal is detected at boot up, the TV/projector also had to already be on - otherwise the video out options were greyed out in control...

Epson cuts 3/4 of US jobs and moves the work to lower-cost factories in Asia.

Well business is business, better to lay off half then have to close everything and EVERYONE loses their jobs - that would suck.
