Survey: what do you consider stable?

My system is stable... in my opinion, it runs for months on end ( it only stops running when i turn it off to get some sleep, not because it crashes :P ) I run seti 24/7 and do all my day to day stuff on it aswell. in my opinion you cant get any more stable! for reference:- t-bird 1.4 @ 1.442...

New K7S5A overclocking bios has all fsb options

I need help from audiophiles on speaker/sub setup/tweaking.

Im more of an in car audiophile and i build all my home speakers from scratch so i wouldnt know about this pollyfiller trick. if it is to reduce te box volume then that would reduce the bass, an quite possibly have serious repocussions in sound quality, as the port size may need revised, and it...

Electromagnetic engine valves

Just out of curiosity i removed all the spark plugs from my car and turned the engine over by hand, i also observed when valves were opening and closeing, by doing this i noticed that it takes a LOT of energy to open the valves, so much so that i imagine haveing say an extra alternator on a car...

Funnily enough this ti=opic was brought up by someone in uni today (think it was me)..And i never even saw this thread. Anyways i was museing with the idea of doing this to my mini, as the A-series engine is an old stile push rod deign, it would just be a matter of removeing the long pushrods...

IE6 Image Corruption jpg files: now with screenshot

IE6 seems to handle j-peg immages funny, if you look at a nice big desktop picture for example, it resizes it so that it fits on the screen. If you could disable this and set it back to the old way, that might fix it?? or perhaps this new system is only used on j-pegs in full screen view.

Overclocking Question

Well first get the latest bios (or check if theres jumperes on the mobo for multiplier adjustment??!!) then if the features are there to adjust the multiplier, do the pencil trick on the L1 bridges then have fun..

ECS K7S5A AGP Motherboard w/audio

I recomend you check out the forums over at ocworkbench, there by far the most comprehensive when it comes to the k7s5a, also there is a nice FAQ for new users of the board to read. That site helped me out alot getting my k7s5a overclocked n stable :) enjoy!

think my chip and board just got fried !!! UPDATE

Just outa curiosity, what kinda heat transfer compund were you useing? iv heard that if you squease i all out it can be just as bad as not haveing any, cant remember where i heard that tho, so dont quote me on it :)

Sub's to comp.

I have 2 10 inch subs on my comp, running of an old but powerful JVC amp which takes its audio feed from the 3.5mm stereo jack at the back of the pc. But if you are lookin for good sound quality and bass reproduction, get a decent soundcard, preferably with RCA outputs..

BIG WATER COOLING PROBLEM!@#

What about glueing/epoxying some long screws to the motherboard where the 4 mounting holes would be, then you could use the 4 hole mounting system with the appropriate sized bolts. Just a thought allthoung i doubt any glue/epoxy would be strong enough, possibly use it in tandem with a clamp...

are my eyes polarizing light?

I know what u meen, if i sit in my livingroom woth only one eye open (its a sortof pink/red room) then everything appears bluer in my other eye when i open it... and it can somethimes take up to 10 mins to go away.

Have you noticed if people treat you differently depending on what you are wearing or driving?

Um yeh just after i crashed my car ( the first time) i had to drive it home with no headlamps/bumper/grill etc, everyone gave me tons of room and stayed well out my road, home in 10mins @ rush our, usually takes half an hour :) so if you want to get home quickly and have protected no-claims on...

Win2k shutdown issue,computer does not turn off by itself

I decided to re-enable acpi as i hate haveing to manually turn off my pc by holding in the power button, this does meen however that i cant run my fsb @ 150 but i can live with that..
