Any of yours using Nero and Lite-On burner succesfully in WinXP? After upgrading to BE7, Nero seems to stall at the "Lead In" phase when burning. Tried clean install of XP, with and without IAA, etc... Help!

Yeah, no cold boots probs here either. It's a week without a single cold boot prob now, not sure what would have sorted the problem or maybe I'm just lucky. Settings at the moment: 160MHz FSB(~2900MHz) HW Strap: High CPU/DRAM divider: 4:5(DDR400) Vcore voltage: +5% DDR voltage: 2.5V

Well, I'm running 160MHz FSB 4:5 +5% Volts and haven't had cold boot problems since last sunday. The problem might be the chipset too, but I'd blame Abit, as tons of cold boot problems were reported with IT7. Yeah, and last weekend I had problems at default 133MHz 4:5... The new BIOS seem have...

Hmmn... I'll start trying every mem divider and CPU strap option and see if they have any affect. I still doubt the problem could be a video card. If this problem is anyhow related to the infamous IT7 cold boot problem, I'm pretty sure they have tried almost everything to solve it.

You might want to check out the BE7-G as well. It has many of the features BE7 lacked. I still believe this board would be on of the best without the boot problem. Nothing sucks more than having to reset the system up to 10 times or even having to reset the bios because of cold boot. Will be...

Looks like you have tightened the nuts pretty well then ;) If you use just "hand-force" as the Alpha guide says, the nuts get unscrewed quite often when you take the screws off. There's quite a few reports of BE7 cold boot issues at newsgroups, so I am definately not the only one with this problem.

True, only if I didn't have an Alpha heatsink bolted through the holes near the CPU. I tried upping both mem and cpu voltage to the top, but it still doesn't cold boot every time. The other people who had this problem with IT7 have tried pretty much everything but nothing seems to work. Some...

Actually there are quite many cold boot complaints about BE7 at the Abit forums: http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread.php?s=f3799689067da600173af13078a6c008&threadid=104 I wish they would have sorted the issue, but problems like this give bad image about quality.

Yep, just noticed they were disabled on default ;) I'm using WinXP at the moment, tried to use the old install, but got a ton of errors so finally I had to do a fresh install. I recommend using software like Drive Image or Norton Ghost always when playing with a new motherboard. I usually take...

Updated the BIOS and reseated the ram. Now it booted up nicely after hour in a cool room. If it boots up next morning without probs, then this issue is probably sorted. Overall, this board seems quite good oc'er. I got the same 167MHz out of my 2.4B as with my BG7, but the DDR ratios definately...

It happens if the comp has been off for a few hours, when I attemp to boot, it just gives me a long beeb. I have to press the reset switch 1-5 times to get it to boot. My BG7 used to have some sort of cold boot issues as well, but I believe they got finally fixed by one Bios release. I'll try...
