N3B went into mass production in December 2022. You state that mass production = 90% yield. Would TSMC have amended their contract with Apple to known-good-dies if that was truly the case?

Am I missing something? In order to get that 9% density improvement, you have to switch from a 3-2 fin cell to a 2-fin cell. But the reason you'd be using 3-2 fin cells in the first place is because you needed your chip to support higher voltages/frequencies. So if before your chip could hit...

Question DDR4 channels vs DDR5 subchannels

In a system with dual-channel DDR4, the memory controller can send out two reads simultaneously. With quad-channel DDR4, that goes up to four simultaneous reads. DDR5 has two subchannels per channel. Does that mean the memory controller can have twice as many reads in-flight at the same time...

Alder Lake is switching to a non-inclusive cache design, which supposedly is optimized for server workloads, ie. completely independent threads that don't share data. Any idea what performance impact this will have on games? And what kind of cache design does Ryzen use?

Looking for pure sine UPS

Doing more research, the CP1500PFCLCD isn't true pure sine but an adaptive sine wave, however, I haven't read about any issues while powering home computers, and it was specifically designed as a lower-cost solution for active PFC PSUs. Considering the price (~$250), I think I'll go with the CP1500.

The reason I doubt it's a problem with the battery is because 75+% of the time when the UPS switches to battery mode it does so perfectly fine. Sometimes though, I'll hear my UPS begin making the buzzing noise signifying it's going onto battery, and then a second later my entire computer...
