Cable modem SNMP traffic filtering for LANs

The situation is this: A Terayon TJ210 cable modem connects our home LAN to the internet. A W2k Pro machine (192.168.0.1) with two NICs acts as the router, and a number of other machines (192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.5) are connected to the net through it. I use MG-Soft MIB Browser from one of those...

rc5 stats are screwed up

rc5 stats are screwed up

This is what it says: "1,082 were completed yesterday ( % of the keyspace) at a sustained rate of KKeys/sec! Ranked 10074 for the day." Some figures missing here - why? Has anyone else noticed this? Its been like this for quite some time now.

UPS problem

I was just in contact with APC tech support, it seems the Back-UPS 1400 does not support smart signalling mode :( Only the basics like sending a shutdown and reporting battery status. A shame for such a high-end model, and the expensive cable I got.

I got a Back-UPS Pro 1400, and I was wondering if there is any way to communicate with it in smart-signalling mode, i.e. so that it will give me loads of info about it, not just the basics?

Need absolutely silent components

Pheran: this costs about £55, so while I am sure it is of very high build quality, I can get the same effect by modding a PSU I am fairly sure, for about 1/10 of the price. Makes more sense to me since I have little/no money :) exedanni

Dumb UPS question

I want to keep my Back-UPS Pro 1400I as cool as possible to lengthen the battery life. I have currently got my computer right beside the UPS. My query then is, would I be better off (cooling-wise) to actually have the computer ON the UPS itself, seeing as the UPS has grills on both sides to let...

Power Supply Fan CFM

Turbo LED on old case

I've got an old case with a 200W AT power supply. The case also has a turbo switch and turbo LED, and there is a black cable from the PSU to the turbo LED. I want to disconnect the thick turbo cable cable from the LED, and possibly just cut it off the power supply completely - can I do this...
