whats the temperature in your area

Winnipeg Manitoba, we've been stuck in a cole stream for a few weeks now... Actual temperature -35C = -31F Temperature with windchill -45C = -49F

I've heard of building speakers, what about a sub?

I'm working on a DIY sub using a PE 12" Quatro driver with a DIY plate amp (335W LM3886 parallel/bridged) in a sealed enclosure. Total cost is ~$100 for the driver and ~$50 in parts for the amp plus about $70 in building materials. I'll post some pics when I'm done. Viper GTS - I recognise...

Titanic is actually a woofer made by Parts Express. It's comparable to the Adire Audio Shiva driver.

Do NOT do HTIB, you can get a lot more for your money by buying everything yourself. For example, I picked up a Kenwood 5.1 100WPC amp for $99 over in hot deals, and then I picked up the $199 Fluance 5 speaker set and for $300 I have a stereo that's much, much better than any HTIB for the same...

#1 all around is easily an nForce2 board with SoundStorm. Simply awesome. Creative who? If your after extra high quality I/O, then an M-Audio board would be a good place to start. Or anything with an ENVY24 or ENVY24HT chip. Creative who?

CBC is now reporting 40,000 dead and expected to double in the coming weeks. VU4RBI/VU4NRO DXpedition reports that up to 25,000 may have been killed in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands alone.

Breaking the light barrier

I remember reading about a similar experiment where they were able to "teleport" light across a medium, however the information that was encoded in the light still arrived as if it was 'only' traveling at C. Figure that one! :D
