Skylake Z170 Motherboard Round-Up

I have XP, Vista, Win 7 & 10 on my 2TB HDD, installed on a ASRock Z68 Fatal1ty with a 3770K ( upgraded from a 2600k last month which now may have been a bad decision). What I'm wondering is if the Z170 or X99 boards are compatible with Win XP, as I don't see any drivers listed from the MB...

ASRock L2.03 & L2.04 BIOS

Been 2 years now, and I'm sad to see that ASRock has not posted any new updated official BIOS. Just a Beta one a couple years back.

Hitachi Deskstar 7K4000

Last year I I stalled two Seagate 4GB drives I ordered from NewEgg and within a week both were making loud clicking noises and stopped being seen by the BIOS or Windows. Ended up returning them.

Is my 2TB Hitachi 7K3000 drive failing?

I initially wanted 4 2TB drives set up as a RAID in case a drive failed, but HDD prices were expensive at that time, these were like $250 each Jan 2012. Now the newer Hitachi 2TB 7K4000 model that replaced the 7K3000 is about $150 and has a 5 year warranty instead of a 3 year.
