What are the symptoms of a dead cpu?

I have the same issue. Green light on the mobo is steady, I do not have anything else plugged into the PSU, when i hit the power switch, the CPU fan will not spin. Is it my mobo or CPU? My system was running fine for 24 hours before it crapped out.

Seagate SATA 160 BSOD when installing XP Pro

I was attempting the install on the ICH5R versus the Promise RAID and all things point to the ICH5R SATA connectors being messed up. I was able to install on the Promise without a hitch. Thanks for reading the post and offering ideas.

Seagate SATA 160 BSOD when installing XP Pro

Makes it part way and then BSOD. Ran Seagate's diagnostics and drive passes their tests. Mobo is P4C800-E Dlx. I am stumped.

Driving me nuts. If I don't install video drivers the XP Pro system is stable, drivers installed and it hangs.

If I have to run FSB at 100 with no OCing, what part is dying?

I now have the system able to run at 2.4c. However, the RAID0 setup, whether on the Promise Controller or Intel, really is flaky. Is there something I need to know about Raptors/SATA/Raid on the P4C800 mobos?

If I have to run FSB at 100 with no OCing, what part is dying?

HyperX is 3500 DDR400 2-3-3-7 2.6v. I also have tried 2.4 and 2.6c CPUs. Northbridge has active cooling. I also have four sticks of Corsair 3200LL that I have tried in the various slots.

The system had been up and running for about a month. One day, I had left the system on overnight, and it was basically dead in the morning.

If I have to run FSB at 100 with no OCing, what part is dying?

I never have taken my OCing over the top. P4 2.4c, Enermax 550(new), Kingston HyperX 512, Audigy 2, 9800Pro, Asus P4C800-E Dlx, Raptors as RAID 0, Sony Dv-RW are the key pieces. Xp Pro. What component is responsible for me having to run at 100 FSB for the system to even accomplish anything...
