Vista Aero & Gaming Performance

Well, I have 4GB in my Vista box with a 4GB ReadyBoost USB drive and the HDD constantly still spins. It drives me nuts! I get apps that hang prior to loading, and can't even open my Yahoo Mail without having to allow it to load. There's issues with many freeware apps I use which I doubt...

Where'd all my FSX Icons Go in Windows Vista?

Switched back to default Vista and everything shows up now. Oh well, time to move on I guess and get used to Vista's bells and whistles. Thanks for your help though!

No Games Explorer. Also have no start menu search because I switched to classic view. I guess I may have to live with Vista's new look.

Well, like me, I just built a new machine and would rather install Vista now than shell out for XP then Vista later. Upgrading is enevitable.

D'oh! DUH! I don't know why I didn't even try that. While that helped, it appears that something plugged into my USB port is causing problems. Probably my iPod again. It keeps seeing it as a bootable device and has caused issues in the past. Thanks for your help.

Internet Explorer Hangs When New Window Opened

I am using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (IE7). Frequently when I open a window, it hangs for about ten seconds before I can enter a URL or any text input. Otherwise it works perfetly fine. Please don't tell me to use Firefox or some other browser as I have my reasons for using IE7. Thanks...

Help! - Dell 2407WFP and eVGA 7950 GT can't get 1440x900 resolution

2407 is easy for selecting between 1:1, aspect, and fill. That's not the issue. The issue is that you can't select 1440x900 in the video resolution because it isn't natively supported by the 2407 drivers.

THanks for the responses guys. I just perused through the Anandtech review of this monitor and that was a complaint that it could handle these other resolutions, just it isn't included with the Dell driver. I used PowerStrip, and it seemed to switch just fine to those resolutions. And to...

Not sure if this is a hardware issue with monitor or video card, driver issue, or other? I basically want to display 1440x900 resolution on my Dell 2407WFP (1920x1200 native) and am using an eVGA 7950 GT 512MB PCI-E video card. I tried to create a custom resolution but it says it can't do it...

Windows XP SP3?

2008!?! WTF? I would think first half of 2007 makes much more sense, but what do I know? I've tried nlite a few times, but I always get errors of some sort, and wanted to use nlite to save time, not spend more time installing and error checking. I reinstall once every nine to twelve months...
