I picked this printer up 6 months ago under a similar deal. It curls the paper something fierce, it is loud... but it is the cheapest laser printer that looks good. Perfect for someone who prints only several pages at a time... not a "workhorse" printer by any means.
I guess that answers that... FunBoy was hit by this A7 Tornado... the plane didn't break, but it knocked FunBoy out for 2 weeks.... is that really worth $40???

You could always do what I did on my Vaio, use LapLink

Download the LapLink 5.0 exe and connect two computers (one with a CD Rom drive) via a null modem(serial) or parallel cable. You can then copy the CAB files from the Win98se disk...
Perhaps bad power. I had a problem like that when I lived in an old brownstone in Brooklyn. I picked up a UPS and that solved it.
