I apologise if this is not something that is felt to any longer be appropriate for these fora. I have greatly benefited from the help and assistance of others here and this is one way I had hoped to 'give back'. Please do let admin know that I am apologetic if this is in fact not permitted here.
@ MrPabulum - thanks! That is one of the most useful things I have heard about the transition from CRT to LCD.
@ Ephemeral - this is OT, will the IBM sale to Lenovo affect your IT? Back OT: IF you have the time when you figure it out, would you mind sharing what you find out?
Thanks Ephemeral! I am not worried about the Glare either - I have seen the Sony 19" 12ms with the XBrite and I was impressed! I too will be going from a 21" I had a Viewsonic Pro and it died after 6 years :? I am currently on a borrowed 17" CRT and I looking forward to finally replacing it - if...
Yeah that makes total sense - and with those specs, I suspect you've got more than enough umph to run the LCD ... the only thing is the option to TS on another rig. One thing that occurs to me - is the glare comment (the only negative from some people). Is it possible it is due to your lighting...

This is just a quick updated for those who have PM'd/emailed me lately. The domain has finally moved to a dedicated IP server, so the The Tech Files link should now be accessible w/o too much trouble ;)
Update: The host has migrated to vBulletin so the link has changed. Some people have PMed about this from AandTech so I thought I would let you all know ;) The Tech Files
Just a quick update. For those of you have noticed that The Tech Files have been down for the last few days, they are now back up ;) Also, I have decided to remove the Words section for ease of upkeep and maintenance.
Update: I have merged the previous thread of articles with
The Tech Files. They can now be found under the Words section. Again I hope this is of assistance.
Update: The Software/Utilities sections are now accompanied by a description of the various resources in order to improve accessibility. I hope this proves useful :)
