thanks. but i dont think that motherboard is available over here. about the fan, is that fan bigger than the silent one? i can't tell! 600mhz more for the 1600 SOUNDS like a big deal, i guess it isnt in reality...

Almost done! Help me pick! New Computer.

Ok I'm getting closer to buy a new computer now... need some final opions and then I'm off :) usage: ill say 90% work, 10% gaming (and i want to be able to run mp3s, avi's, mpgs etc.) monitor: im going to use a 17" nokia, so i wont run on extremely high resolutions.. i think 1024x1024 or so...

Comparing memory and hd's, anyone got links?

thanks for the answers! if i would buy a 7200 instead of a 5400 that would cost me about $25-30 more, i'm not sure it's worth it if i only get about 5% better speed. or for that $25-30 i could get a 60gb drive instead of a 40gb drive, and i'm sure i will have need for an extra 20gb... i need to...

Comparing memory and hd's, anyone got links?

I'm looking for tests where they compare ddr memory with p133 memory, and tests where they compare 5400 and 7200 harddrives so one can tell how much it differs, anyone got links? either here, or on tomshardware or firing squade or whereever.. i cant find any, any whenever i ask people give...

let's try this again: is 256mb of ddr a better deal than 512mb of pc133? if the answer to this question is "yes" please explain why. and the answer im looking for is why is it better TODAY. will 256mb of DDR memory performe better in my current system TODAY than if i put 512mb in it? TODAY.

well i dont know what to believe, one of you guys talked about 25 percent difference, then others say there's hardly no difference and you won't even notice it... makes you wonder what to believe..

im in europe so i dont get such a good deal, a 40gb 5400 is like $120 or so.. but if the difference as much as 25% then im going for a 7200. thanks for the advice you guys!

faster? how much faster? 5%? 10% is it faster than TWICE as much p133 memory? 256mb vs 512mb? and what future are you taking about? 3 months from now? 3 years from now? you know maybe I should buy future memory in a future where i actually might need it? all motherboards can take atleast 512mb...

5400 vs 7200 hd speed!

i'm considering a 5400 silent fujitsu 40gb drive. a 7200 same brand is $30 more or so... is it worth $30 more? will that, that greatly improve performance? or maybe i should stick with a 5400... or get a 60gb instead of 40gb atleast 20gb extra i KNOW will come handy... but 7200 instead of...

from what i understand ddr memory is better, but only SLIGHTLY better than pc133 memory, like 5-10 percent or so, is that true? where i live, 256mb of ddr memory costs EXACTLY the same as 512mb of pc133 memory! surely 512mb pc133 must be BETTER than 256mb drr? i mean ddr memory is better, but...
