what sort of rights does my family have in this situation?

If he signed a paper saying the sale was as-is, then you are out of luck. My dad does car/truck sales and he ALWAYS telle people the vehicle is as is and it is your responsibility to get it checked before buying it.

2d graphics corruption please help!

My friend has this problem. Lemme start off by saying we opened his comp for the first time in a long time and it was covered in dust. The video card fan siezed up. We couldn't do anything so we cleared the dust and put it back together. So he has been having this problem for a while even...

Why my R9100 128MB slower than 64MB

your cpu is holding it back I score almost 9000 with a sapphire 128 MB 8500LE with 250/200 clocks.

Maxtor... burning up the competition!!!

Are you kidding me? You didn't tell him it burned up? Why wouldn't he have let you RMA it? The drive caught on fire! You should have told them, and they would probably have given you a free upgrade...and possibly found a fault in that series of hard drives...
