Awaiting delivery of my new Core I7 860 of course I'm gonna OC
got some DDR3 2000 to hell me with that (hoping to get to 4Ghz)
I was shopping around for LGA 1156 coolers and the picking seems to be slim.
My MoBo doesn't have any heatsinks on the voltage regulators so I would like something...
I'm having the same problem with my Q6700 i am using the xigmatek s1283 also.
I also tried a scythe zipang but the results were pretty much the same...
Case is an Antec 1200 so definately no airflow issues...
I've tried orienting the cooler so the fan blows up towards the 200mm fan, that...
I have the same issue with my P5Q Deluxe.. I'm using the Xigmatek HDT-S1283
That huge bend in the MoBo scares me...
My temps are scary also.. my Q6700 running at 3.6 GHz idles around 45 and under stress around 77 celsius. Voltage is set to 1.45
I'm in love with this board.
Got my Q6700 ES to 3.6 GHz without breaking a sweat. I could probably go higher but I'm afraid to pump any more voltage into my chip, I'm already @ 1.525 in the bios and full load temps are in the high 60's. With my Gigabyte 965P I was hardly able to get the same...
Got my 1200 at MicroCenter for $179.
My best case yet, even though it's steel it's very light.
The leds don't bother me as much as i thought they would (they kinda grew on me)
Yeah what he said.
Most benchmarks show that 99% of Applications/Games aren't optimized to realize the full potential of a quad, so a higher clocked dual will outperform a quad which normally do not OC quite as well as most duallies.
I almost pulled the trigger on one last nite, but my E6600 is running at 3.42ghz.
Even if I did OC the E7200 to 4ghz or better i don't think the difference would be that significant.
That sounds about right my 4400 on the same board running at 3.2GHz with default voltage idle temp is around 27-29c.
I haven't stressed it so I don't know what it is under load.
