If you really want to unlock the CPU so it runs 1.8ghz on battery, overload your battery and be very unhappy with the problems that will occure then simply go to AMDs website and download the latest driver for the Athlon64 DESKTOP CPU (NOT the Mobile). When you install and reboot you will be...
No matter what you do you will not be able to run your laptop at the full 2Ghz while on battery. The power draw is far to high for the battery to provide. When on AC power though your laptop should automatically go to full speed when in the 'Always on' power profile. Mind did when I had the...
I haven't found a fix for the battery problem yet. I am waiting on my RMA box from eMachines. When it gets here I am going to backup my data, format this box and put WinXP Pro back on it. See if the battery problem is fixed, if it is I will let you know either way. Once thats been accomplished I...
The really slow frame rates in 3DMark05 are prolly just the computer. In 3DMark01 I would get something like 9500 with no overclocking. With 3DMark04 I would get around 2800 I believe. Its just a new benchmark suite so chances are its meant for even higher end systems then what we have. I will...
Flashed, works! I can watch DVDs again with no lockups! but the battery is the same as with the NSF03P0 bios. It says its at 0% and doesn't ever change. Wonder if there is a way to have windows recalibrate my battery.
A format might fix the problem. I will let you know if it does. I will do a...
thetxstag, sorry i think I forgot to include an e-mail address when I messaged you. Could you send a copy of the bios to 'eric (at) fizi (dot) ca'
Edit: Never mind I will snag it from the site instead. Thanks though!
Double Edit: lol, his link is dead, could you e-mail me a copy?
Ya I flashed back today back to the M6811s bios. The new one was also causing me some problems with my DVD-ROM I think. I've called eMachines and am getting an RMA done for my hinges since I've been putting it off. The Rep told me he would add a note to give me the newest bios also since I...
eMachines doesn't support your original flashing from the m6805 to the m6811 FYI.
I flashed to the NSF03 bios and its resolved the video lockup bug thats been happening to the majority of people out there using ATi Drivers past v4.3. How ever one draw back is that it doesn't detect my battery...
For making a backup of your bios the risk should be none. You're only making a copy, you arn't modifying it. Just to try and re-assure you so I can get some new bios goodness to hopefully fix this video lockup bs emachines has left us all with ;)
No, 99.99% of the time the Video Card is soldered to the motherboard. Unless you bought your laptop and it specifcally advertised 'With upgradable video' you're stuck.
I believe the problem was with the ATi Catalyst Drivers. Getting the latest Omega Drivers should resolve the problem. I also believe that there is a v1.1 patch out now for Doom 3. If you are leary about installing the Omega Drivers try using the v1.1 patch first.
