Suggestions for a dorm TV?

320MB 8800GTS, honest opinion

so if 320mb is a bottleneck, how would the 640mb version compare to the 9600gt, 3850 etc?

Visiontek HD3870 $130 No Rebates at Circuit City B&M

@ITPaladin Just based on Moore's law =) i'd say about 8x better in newer games and maybe 2x better in older games that were around when the x800 was Circuit City in arundel maryland didn't have any 3870's..but that's typical, they never have anything at all

budget cpu question

where can you get the e4500 for only $20 more? the e2180 seems to have more OC potential but you would have to invest in a good motherboard/ram which may even out the price difference

Need some advice...

I have the same board and I have my old single core o/c past what you're getting with ease. Don't use the auto-overclock -- it'll give a 30% overclock maximum. It sounds more like you're neglecting to turn down your RAM and HT multipliers as you increase the FSB. Try turning your memory down...

Well by having HDMI i was hoping I could connect game consoles or dvd players while keeping the computer connected through DVI. Maybe I should have also said put on an audio out jack. :roll:

Need help with an X2 4400

I've gotten that message a few times and I think it's just a motherboard issue. When the message shows up for me, it's usually because I'v e overclocked too high and I turn down the clocks a bit and it goes away. I don't know why it would have those problems when you're on default though...

This is a TN panel right? While the Soyo is an MVA/PVA? I think rather than these monitors being lucky sales, it's a sign of 24" monitors starting to come to mainstream price points. $250 and an HDMI port and I'm all over one.
