I dont believe we will have console performance levels on desktop APUs.
AMD cant push this without cannibalizing their partners consoles. They will always keep it segmented.
Just opened 24 .Dwg files, 7 Chrome tabs, Outlook, Excel, Primavera P6, Adobe Reader, Skype and the worst, Calculator. It's on 6,39GB of RAM used.

Just a full die with 2GB GDDR5 on HBC would put it much closer to this spec.

Buy a Pentium/i3, that was the only option until now.
At least AMD now have an option to get budget buyers into AM4 platform, with the prospect of buying some Ryzen...

The way I see AMD has a better mind share right now to release BR than 6-8 months ago, also, there's plenty AM4 boards on the market to acommodate Ryzen R5/R7 and the budget oriented R3/BR.

Intel marketing slides and all this "scalable" talk says it all, they gave up the 1S market for now.

AMD needs money, but also needs market and mind share, this drop is an indicator of what to expect from Threadripper prices. It surely bring focus to it.
