Troubleshooting 8800 gts

I'm using a Seasonic S12 430 watt PSU. My guess is if it's not the card, it is my PSU, but the only power supply recommendations I've seen for this card just say >400 watts. My other components are not power hungry - x2 3800+, Foxconn Geforce 6150 micro-atx mobo, 2x512 OCZ ram, and two HDD's...

Troubleshooting 8800 gts

Thanks for the input. I switched the card out for my old one (an ati x800xl) and the system was stable just fine. Does this mean that is is definitely the video card, or could the power draw from the 8800 be causing something else to go wrong?

Troubleshooting 8800 gts

I'm having trouble with my new evga 8800 gts 640. I installed the card and the newest driver from NVidia and I'm getting system freezes every once in a while. It seems unusual because it will happen whether or not I am doing anything graphic-intensive. I have been monitoring temps carefully...

My 8800GTS came today!

I just got the same 8800 GTS you ordered (640-P2-N821-AR) the day after you did. Mine was clocked at 576/850 as well, but it locks up every once in a while. What's the point of a factory overclock on a piece of hardware that can't handle it, even if it is free?

Unexplained crippling slowdown

Dell 2005fpw 20" LCD $436 AC w/free ship

Mine is on order from dell, should be in here in a few days. USPS tracking says 24.10 pounds. Pretty big to be taking abroad, not to mention potential questions at customs and problems converting foreign power (though I'd assume the moniter's power source will handle any standard voltage).

Help with underclocked CPU

Success! Vcore was already set to default 1.65 volts, and clocking straight to 166 FSB worked! Stable boot and CPU thermals are still a cool 53/54'C with the stock HSF. The fans aren't even running any faster than they were before. CPUID shows athlon xp 3000+. I would seem that did the...

Help with underclocked CPU

I loaded CPUID, which also said i was running a 1700+. I bumped the FSB in the bios up to 133 anyway and everything stayed stable. Now CPUID says it's an xp 2200+, so no real help there.... On the upside, changing to 133MHz did not significantly increase my thermals, up to about 51'C from...
