a bit off topic let me just 1st say, I'm not a console person,. last console I had was a chip modded PS1, and before that a N64... I thought, when MS previously quoted Xbox Flops, it was a combination of GPU + CPU ? If this is the case then a custom SOC it would seem , should easily hit...

Except of course, the 1070 is NOT $50 over the 970, its $120 over the 970 at release (329.99-449.99).. unless you can point to availability of the $379.99 GTX 1070 Unicorn Edition.

Still wondering if the full XT part even exists. If so, with +10% more core, and possibly GDD5X boost, could get within 15% of the 1070 for 50% less. Ouch Looks like it will set The Standard for Price/Performance and very close to Perf/Watt.. given that at best the 1070 is over 2x (200%) the...

As already pointed out, the 970 and 1070 are capable of using up to 225W (75W via PCIe, + 150W via 2x6pin/1x8pimn). When you look at actual power consumption numbers, typically cards only draw about 30-40W through the PCIe slot, and the rest coming from the 6/8pin connectors, and almost never at...
