I was wondering if my cpu is dead.... could the symptons i have be because of that ?
(Since power is being run through the motherboard.... but no ports on the mother board work.)
Well i have a K7S5A chipset from Elite Group (http://www.sysopt.com/reviews/ecs-k7s5a/)

and a 1.7 Amd atholon.
I think my motherboard's battery might have died.... any ways to check that ?
thanks for your reply... I ended up using an oem hp adapter and it was charging the battery fine... strange though since my Hi Capacity Adapeter had the same specs of the HP notebook adapter... but whatever the case.. it works now.

Well if you have your uploads turned on..... and have people randomly download from you,, it will slow your connections down.
I used to have one-way cable.. and if anybody downloaded from me.... my internet connection would almost be at a standstill.
My problem is i turn on my computer.. the HD and both rom drives load up... the fan on the cpu spins... but no power to any ports...aka... mouse.. usb... keyboard port..also my video card doesn't boot up.
I am stuck and clueless ... anybody have any idea whats wrong or what to do ?
My omnibook does not charge my battery. I am currently using a Hi Capacity brand AC adapter.
When I plug in my battery even if the AC adapter is plugged in the battery just discharges and the laptop turns off.
Could it be my adapter ?
Only changes I made on my laptop is install windows XP...
