You can show him/expain to him a couple of things:
1) most products have an average time of operation before failure factoid on the box. I remember looking at HD's and seeing them for about 100,000 hours which is something like 10 years of use. Now I don't know about you, but I don't plan to...
It all depends on the service in your area. I know that where I live, cable modems used to be horribly slow (down around the same speed as a 56k modem during peak hours) b/c they threw so many ppl onto the same segment. I can say that now they have alleviated much of this problem. One other...
Okay, thanks for all the posts. I just went over the results that intel released on the two types of memory, and had a good laugh after reading toms most recent rant(?) on the subject.
Also, thanks for setting me straight on the number of chips being important rather than the amount of total...
Thanks for the post Ulysses, but those aren't quite what I'm looking for. I've already seen a ton of benchmarks and such comparing DDR to RDRAM, but what I'm interested in is the performance of different memory sizes when using RDRAM. Every article mentions how the serial nature of RDRAM...
I don't know whether or not any sites have done this sort of benchmarking, but I think it would be interesting. Many people have said that due to the serial nature of RDRAM, the more memory you have, the slower it will run. Has anyone actually tested this to see the degree to which this is...
Nope, from what I understand the only d3d rendered parts are the skill animations, so those might appear a bit smoother, but overall the game environment should look the same.
