The Acer is a very nice solution like, I did like the look of it when it was announced. I just like making things with my own two hands :~) Would you say the Acer is better than the latest HPs ? More efficient ? I know im asking for the world. Sorta. Just want low power :(

Getting old mobo to see sata hdd?

Did you make sure the HDD was set to Sata I mode, 1.5gbs. Do new HDDs even have hat jumper option..? My old A7n8x-e deluxe used to have my 2 sata drives in it, a sata 1 drive and a sata 2 drive so it definatly works. MAybe its because it doesnt know what a terabyte is since when the mobo...

Hard Drive Problem

thanks for the input. Ive gave the 500gb drive to a friend who is a hardware wiz, hes gonna crack it open and get t working again. If he succeeds ill give him my 250gb to have a bash at too. Ill let you know if he succeeds and if so will explain what he did.

Hard Drive Problem

update: The 250gb drive does not get detected by bios when plugged in by itself. However it is detected when my OS drive (200gb) is plugged in with it. Ive tried some bootable hdd programs but they fall over when trying to do anything with either of the drives :(

Hard Drive Problem

I hope they arnt proper dead :( Ive had the 250gb in a few seperate computers, none will find it. And the 500gb has came from htpc to my main one. Both are in now and powered up. The machine took approx 20 mins to boot :( And they cant been seen by windows in Dev Manager or Comp Manager.

Gigabyte 780G Boards

Fabulous. Would a Gigabyte 780G board be the best decision or are the other makes any better? I know Giga were the first out the door with it, as I have their first 780g in my HTPC. Im making this PC for a friend, so need a nice cheapy mATX with some good features as to keep it future proofed...

3650 vs 6600GT

Well its installed an already is making grounds above the 6600 :) The 3850 was alot more money than the 3650. Cheapest was £86. Like i said, this was just a cheap upgrade. Waiting on the new SB750 mobos and perhaps a phenom refresh to buy a new comp altogether, with a 4870X2 :)
