AT World of Warcraft Thread (WotLK, where do you play, General BS and all that)

Killing the heart activates his Hard Mode. Therein lies your problem. :P Also trounced Razorscale and hit a brick wall at Ignis. FWIW, switching to a druid main tank helped immensely. Even after the armor nerfs, his is far enough ahead of the warriors to survive a lot longer here.

Just so someone says it out loud..... their plan is to allow massive overclocking, whilst blowing all of the hot air in completely the wrong direction (i.e. against the normal airflow) for the most common ATX cases. Yes?

Small demo or something I can download to stress video card?

Just to elaborate... ATI Tool tries to check for problems and alert you, whereas FurMark simply generates enormous load until you either crash or stop it.

I believe the F@H client detects your GPU when it runs, and if they haven't put your model on the list... well, it doesn't run. They'll have to compile a new build with the latest model numbers.

Folding@Home VMware

Bump for love. I'm upgrading to Windows 7 soon, and adding enough RAM to do things like this. This summer it's either return to SMP point production, or stop wasting electricity on my main rig at home, and let the office machines do the heavy lifting.

Electricity costs ...

Q9300 at 3.30ghz

3.2-3.4 is reasonable with a high end heatpipe cooler and a lot of BIOS tweaking. The components in your sig should certainly be able to do this. Check the overclocking stickies for details. Shoot for ~1.30 volts and <70 degrees C; past 1.35v and you're getting risky.

GPU F@H crashes my dell

Any chance you can open the side of the case without voiding the warranty, and see what the power supply is rated for? Those are conservative components compared to an overclocker's rig, but OEMs like to reeeally skimp on power supplies. Overloading it will cause hard crashes like this.

Hmm. It seems to be aimed at large enterprise customers with a need for many, many servers. Is this something Amazon built for themselves and then decided to sell?
