I edited my OP for clarity. The idea behind the OP was to see if I could work with 16x M.2s with the hardware I had in mind. Obviously that isn't going to work. I was checking to see if I could somehow work with 64 total lanes (with the HBA & PCH lanes --- I wasn't clear on this) not 96...
aigomorla, I suspected that might happen, but wasn't sure. I came across that Asus Hyper card but figured if I ended up using the HBA, I wouldn't need it. I've always liked IcyDock products & figured that would fit the bill if the project went in that direction.
The bright side here is if I...
I've been reading up on HBAs and I'm considering the 9400-16i for an upcoming workstation build.
1st question: Since the 9400-16i is an x8 card, assume I install it in an x8 slot and assume I connect 4x PCIe NVMe x4 drives: Would that use 8 or 16 PCIe lanes from the CPU? I know these are...
Congrats to all who are trying to improve your health & the health of those around you. I don't smoke, but I have had close relatives that did. It's hard to quit. It's great to see some folks are trying!
I've never met anyone who can eat as many turkey sandwiches as I can in a given month. Heck, I don't think I've met anyone who eats as many as I do in a week. I've eaten an average of 8 - 10 turkey sandwiches per week dating back to, I'd say, 1997. If I had to guess on a record week, I'd say...
Nikon Cafe is a great forum for her to learn all about her D3400. She can also uncover suggestions for new lenses as she grows with the camera. David Busch, an author of several Nikon books, including the D3400 book in the second link, is an active member. Cool guy. Sent me a free D60 book.
So sorry to hear about your babygirl. Similar story. Raised my babygirl from a week old as a rescue after her mother took off with the rest of the litter. Fuzzball ran away last November after 9 years. I know how hard this is.
One of the reasons I won't support AMD's future GPU products is because they did the same thing with the 7970 release. I dealt with horrible drivers for 6 months with this card. This is what AMD does.
The one time I had an issue with an EVGA card, customer service made a warranty exception & took care of it, even though, technically, they didn't have to. This was back during the TR / KR warranty fiasco several years ago. My next GPU will be an EVGA product.
