Like I said I will wait to see how it overclocks. I use a heavily CPU bound application in FSX, if it does 5GHz then the upgrade it's worth for me. Also I'm running my Haswell on a H110 pull push but I'm voltage limited at 4.4. If I can squeeze 600MHz more out of the 4790k then I will take my...
To be honest I have a 4770k and Im thinking of getting this CPU. Mainly beacause my haswell cant go over 4.4 Ghz and it needs the whole 120v from the wall outlet to do so. Still I want to see how it performs first before taking the swing.
Hi. I have a question. Im planning on a new build but I would like to use my current drives since I'ld like to keep all my stuff.
The new pc will be based on the same cpu (4770k), same chipset (z87) although probably a different mobo. Similar Ram 2x8gb sticks and a similar nvidia card, going...
Nice work there man. So The voltage needed for the chip would be less at less temps according to you and one could achieve higher clocks. What method do you recommend vice or razor?
Right. It would run cooler but I wont get any performance increase besides the chance of brick it.
Anyway, is it fine to run it at 1.32v 24/7? What do you think?
Hi. My 4770k does 4.5 on 1.32vcore. For 4.6 it would need more than 1.36v and Im not comfortable with that. Doing only fpu test in aida64 the cpu throttles for overheating. All this using a h110 in pull push setup. However in daily applications max is 69C.
Im wondering if taking the risk of...
Hi, wondering if this will help lower my temps. 4770k and h110, im not planning to delid. I will use the thermal paste between the ihs and the h110 copper surface. What product you gyus recommend liquid pro or liquid ultra? Is it safe? Thx
I've set mine to 1.32v adaptive 4.5GHz. I tested it with Aida64 and vcore will go pass 1.40v which makes the CPU throttle. However, i've checked with Aida monitor running in the background while playing Crysis3, or even FSX which is high Cpu demanding that the voltage never goes beyond 1.32v...
Solved!!! Thank you, I set it to 0% min. Now its throttling and going back to 4.5ghz under load. Next its to set the correct adaptive voltage configuration. Thanks again
Hi, I have this mobo with my 4770k at 4.5GHz stable. However my cpu is running at full speed all the time which I dont like. I would like to benefit from haswell's power saving features.
However, I cant get the correct configuration. I have all C states enabled on the bios, EIST and even tried...
