Core i5/i7 removable heat spreader

Hey guys, building my first i5 system. Just wondering if the heat spreader on CPU itself is removable, like the ones on the P4? Any cooling efficiancy gains by doing this?

That's what I thought, but he reminded me of the proxying services for games like lowerping.. You're saying those are pointless?

RJ45 ports in apartment

I say plug in something expendable, and see if you get an IP. If you don't get an IP, assign yourself one and ping broadcast to see what happens. If you don't get any results doing that - the only other option IMO is to trace the wiring. Personally, I wouldnt trust it for anything...

Not really sure of the correct terminology. He basically wants to have a subnet on his network where all attached PCs go to me, with no NAT in between. Requests are sent over to my network where they are handled by my router as if they were on my local net.

Linux IP Bridging over SSH tunnel?

I've got a server behind a buddy's firewall that only has one outgoing port open for my server. I can ssh OUT of this port to my home gateway, but I can't SSH in from the internet. How can I set up an IP bridge from his network to mine so that he can take advantage of my FIOS?

That's a good idea, I'm curious if the cost of ISDN is comparable to the $80/month for mobile broadband here We get so-so cellular reception at their house anyway.

Replacement for Linksys WRT54G??

No internet at the in-laws - ARGH!

Yeah, my current built-in modem on ths laptop can only get like 28k And I agree, ISDN is pitiful compared to a "true" broadband, however, it's twice as fast as any analog modem.
