I am facing this weird problem with my system. Have a gigabyte X58A-UD5 motherboard, Core i7 920 and 6 x 2 GB DDR3-1066.
I have multiple hard drives one of which is dedicated for the hackintosh mac OS installation. Only when I boot off this hard drive, load the mac OS and then do any...
Boards that have multiple storage controllers can do this (ICH10+Marvell+JMicron combinations). Some chipsets like those used in nForce 790i have multiple controllers in the southbridge which also permit multiple storage configurations.
I am trying to OC a Gigabyte X58 mobo with Core i7 920 D0 and Corsair DDR3-1600 mem (6 X 2 GB) . With issues of CPUs frying out, I am looking for reliable articles that talk about what to do and what not to preferably for this specific CPU and gigabyte boards in general (not particular about...
I have 3 X 1.5 TB HDDs on an nForce 790i SLI motherboard in a RAID5 configuration. My write speeds to this drive is around 30 MB/s which seems tragically low. Is something wrong or is this the best I can expect because of the software RAID implementation?
Thanks in advance.
Will check again with lower speeds (I tried 1333 earlier that didn't help).
What would be the safe peak voltage for memory? I remember reading something about CPUs destroyed because of higher memory voltage.
I am in Bangalore and I do use an UPS.
I am located in India.
I picked up a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5(cost me around 500$) for workstation use (for my brother who is into digital content creation and gaming) with 2 packs of Corsair triple channel memory 6 X 2GB DDR3-1600 Corsair XMS3 3X6G1600C9 (another 500$ for this) and Core i7 920...
I picked up parts for a new system mainly for gaming and digital content creation - Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 motherboard with Core i7 920 and 12 GB (6 X 2 GB) DDR3-1600 memory [2 packs of corsair TR3X6G1600C9 rated @ 1.65V].
I simply can't get the system to reliably detect 12 GB of RAM. It...
There are two partitions, 150GB for the OS of which 50 GB is free and another of 1.1 TB of which 155 GB is free. I doubt if there are page swaps causing the problem. I have about 4 GB of RAM.
The noise is clicking and doesn't sound fatal, I have heard similar sounds on drives I have owned...
I recently moved from 2 X seagate 250GB 7200.10 HDDs in RAID 0 to a single Seagate 1.5 TB 7200.11 HDD. I intend to pick up 2 more of the latter and do a RAID 5.
My 1.5 TB is almost full now and I have begun to notice off late that occasionally while playing videos off the drive, the video...
The system I have now is not going to be a storage server. For the moment since this is the only system I have and I need storage space I am planning to buy some large capacity drives. Later I will build another system (the HTPC + Storage) and migrate all these large capacity drives . The...
