I have been looking for à solution to convert videos î bought from iTunes so I an play them through media browser inside windows media player.
The only ones I seem to be able to find are paid programs. Also these programs don't seem to be too reputable either.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I would be very interested in this answer as well. I've used dropbox so far and Google Drive has expanded their storage as well. My main cloud-based storage is dropbox but I also have items on Google Drive and my sky drive as well however they are not as easy to access and convenient as dropbox.
My HTPC has been running great, but due to limits in data and having unlimited usage from 12-6am I am looking for the best way to record video streams from Netflix and amazon to watch later.
I have tried to use any video recorder but this only seems to work for about 5min before it fails and...
I would suggest building a small HTPC with bluray and storage for video files. You can put one together for 250 or so that will handle most anything you throw at it and use for streaming.
I have used windows 7 and 8 and like 8 mainly because I got the free WMC upgrade for it. With media...
Ok I am trying to figure out how to program the tivo slingbox remote to power on and off my tv , well actually my sound bar, but it will basically be the same. I also want to be able mute it as well. I am doing to so the tivo thinks it is connected to a powered HDMI device.
I have looked...
Very good point on the 65w CPU I currently have. For some reason I though the i3 was a 35 or 55w one and the psu would have no issues with thoses. Even still 90w psu with an ssd, a bluray, and that I need to figure out at parts checker what the draw would be.
Also the conversion cables for the...
I have a copy of cyberlink 12 I picked up for $10 on sale from newegg a few months back. I've managed to get rid if all the other crap it loads on installation. However it seems in perfectly with windows media center and has regular updates. So far it has played every disc I have thrown towards...
TiVo is another solid option as a replacement stb for FIOS. It has extenders via other premiere boxes or tivo mini. You can stream to iOS devices on your home network, it has Hulu plus, Netflix, YouTube, amazon instant video among other things. It can also be programed remotely to set up...
I am looking to replace my main HTPC / NAS / media server with a smaller nicer looking unit and build a media server to put in the closet with the switch in there using the left over parts from my current HTPC.
Case:
Silver-stone Tek Thin Mini-ITX Media Center for Intel DH61AG Mother Board with...

I'm on the final stages of pulling the trigger. This build might actually replace me sever/ NAS / main HTPC.
Nope don't need a tuner on it since I can get everything I need from my server that is connected to a TiVo XL. I can even set my tivo to stream me a live show using just software.
Not looking to expand. This will only be an HTPC extender and dvd/bluray player for a bedroom so I am looking for a small appealing case.
Looks like this thermal pipe is needed as a cooler.
