Can the additional 2mb cache on the e6300 be enabled?

Some E6300's have never even had the extra 2MB because they were based on the Allendale core.

Which Windows OS is best for energy saving purposes

Well, Linux definitely gives the best performance (which I assume translates into less CPU usage on idle = less power) and reliability, but the file sharing issue may be a problem or not. Ubuntu Linux is really easy to use once set up with movie-playing codecs , though. Linux is also free...

Q6600 vs E6850 electricity costs???

For normal use, the E6850 will use less power because even Speedstep-enabled idle cores consume power, at least with the current setup.

do i have to get vista ultimate64bit inorder to optimize a Cord 2 Duo cpu?

Driver issues and binary compatibility issues. Even if they are minor, would you rather get product A which is supported by an overwhelming majority of software and hardware, or Product B for the same price and features but isn't supported as well. Future-proofing is rubbish, if everyone...

Now we can't look into the past. We are looking at light that encodes information bout the state of the universe some time ago, much like a history book. Just because I have a history book about World War II doesn't mean i can go there.

Time is not "out there" in my opinion i.e. we can't travel to the past or future because there's no preserved/created instance of that time yet.

Yes, 200Mhz will make a large difference because of the performance-per-clock (Maybe not as above but going from 2.6 to 2.8 will put it very close to the best Intel comes out with) and also I think Intel won't release any new ones because the prediction was 20% better clock speeds over...
