PSU DOA?

I just turned on my power supply after I installed it into my case and nothing happens. I haven't hooked it up to the mobo yet but shouldn't it still work without being hooked up to anything?

I just got my 3500 with the stock hs/fan, should i just go with the thermal pad already on there or should i take the pad off with some alcohol and put on some AS5? What would you do?

I went with the antec super lan boy. I decided I wanted to be able to see inside. The MSI Neo2 looks soooooo cool.

Can I start ordering now?

Well I decided to go with the OCZ 470. I just wish it didn't have that green LED. I changed the case to the antec super lan boy, I wanted to be able to look inside and see all the parts plus I think I found a way to disable autoeject on my DVD. Will I be able to disable the LED in the OCZ?
