I agree, not for the same reason, but doubling L2 cache is not worth $100 unless the 4800+ has something else going for it under the hood.

Just a bit confused. Are you talking L1 or L2 cache. The L1 cache is either 128 or 256 KB and L2 either 1 or 2 MB.

Does anyone use the Samsung 24" or ViewSonic 23" widescreens mentioned above? Haven't seen a review of the ViewSonic, but the lab reviews (link above) of the Samsung and the Dell 2407 conclude that these monitors need better and more accurate color quality (closer to reality out of the box)...

2GB of memory really better than 1GB

Looking at potential benefit from upgrading to 2GB of DDR PC-3200/400Mhz memory on my rig vesrsus staying put at 1GB until eventual upgrade to DDR2 motherboard. Anyone see big performance gain with photo/video editing and gaming?
