Is Windows 8 really that bad? (Windows 7 user)

What is the best current version of MS Office to use? Locally on 1 computer.

I still see nothing bad about the 2003 and 2007 Offices. They work, they do the job and that all I personally need. Some time ago, when .docx format was not that much popular but I had to open some of them, I've installed a plug-in which automatically converts docx into doc.

Are there any alternatives to Microsoft office?

It all depends on users need. Frankly, I use Google Docs because for work I don't need heavy formating of the text. And It's automatically on the cloud, so I have all the files whenever I need them from any device.

Simple personal schedule program?

Well, since I don't have that much in my to-do list, I use the Calendar app in Metro UI for W8. Simple and quite good. But Google calendar was a total disaster - I really didn't like the interface.

Dropbox / Google Drive / Skydrive

I use everything! Google Drive in office for my work materials. SkyDrive from home Windows 8 computer for some personal files. Dropbox for sharing something with my friend. And it never led to any confusion. They all work perfectly great. I see no point in choosing only one cloud storage. And...

SKYDRIVE, Jesus it shouldnt be this hard

I don't see a problem here. SkyDrive's folder has all the files in it synced with the cloud. What's unreliable here? Move what you need there. That's all. Or upload everything to the cloud directly and don't use the windows app folder.
