Any Old SoundBlaster 16 (ISA) Experts Here ? ...

in my experience, I have two of these, if installed correctly, no PNP can sometimes be a pain, they are all reliable sound cards, better than most competing brands.

Thermaltake Super Orb. Good or bad?

gives you twice the sound for half the cooling, but's that just my opinion, I keep mine in storage and use a volcano 2, cools better and is quieter

Can I upgrade this E Machine Cyrix proceesor to anything faster?

sounds like a pretty much proprietary mb. socket 7. check the mb for jumpers, usually the mb has stencilings which give multiplier and voltage settings, and system speed settings, check them out. you might be able to upgrade to a amd-k6 550+.

radeon 7093 drivers for win98, are they an improvement?

Just started downloading the 7093 drivers off theati website. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these, and whether they improve performance as ati implies.

I got my 750 for $72, 1.2's are going for $200 any axia's going for less than that

T-bird 750 stepping poll

Anyone have a T-bird 750 with the following stepping AO750APT3B, ADEA0022VPBW, 91806260822 What does it mean?, Does it have aluminum or copper connections, and how does it oc. I assume mine would only get to 950 mhz, but I'd be interested in what other people get.

Who's got the fastest P3 733MHz?

I have a 550e, what a great chip, it thinks it's a p3733eb anyway. It doesn't heat up at all with the stock hsf. I assume I probably could get to 150 mhz if I didn't have a bx board with it.

microATX board in ATX case?

why bother with a microatx board when you can get a full sized atx bx board for $46 including shipping. You might need the extra slots.

how to password protect system

none of the bios password protection is secure though since they disappear when you clear the bios.

OK, the GF3 is a P4 in the making and ATi will show up soon...what do you want in a vid card?

I can't think of any reason to shell out $500 for a gf3, by the time games enable its programable improvements, you can look at a kyro 3, radeon 2, or gf3, all at a much more competitive price. Maybe one of them will cook the current gf3 at under $150, then I might even buy one.

What's the big deal about Blue Copper Die T-birds?

I dunno I can't tell what my t-bird 750 is, It's an oem and has a silvery top, it doesn't look like either the bluish or greenish top pictured

Poor AMD

what's the difference, raising the current athlon to 1.4 or 1.5 ghz, would have little impact on system performance. I think releasing a palomino at 1.4 or 1.5 ghz, will be better since it will reduce power consumption and heat and quiet down the athlon system. After all most system performance...

super orb too loud...what should i get instead

the super orb gives deceptive temps on the mb, anyway, almost any non-orb, should do as well.
