microsoft released a tool that's supposed to allow you to update your key. search their site for keyupdatetool.exe

Internet Issues

Something with the OS I think. I put yet another brand new NIC and also tried using the USB connection, both did the same as before. Any suggestions, other then reinstalling windows? edit: mod could probably just move this to the OS forum since it seems that's what the issue turned out to...

Having an issue, using IE or Firefox. When the programs are opened, it'll takes about 30 seconds of showing "Connecting to...", then it'll start working and will continue to work during that session. Open another window of the app, and it'll do the same thing. There was a power outage which blew...

PC Turns Off.....

Update: Found the problem. Even after all the monitoring of clean volts, turns out the Power Supply is the culprit. It finally had it's last burst of energy and gave out on me last night. Tested it on another system, and it does the same thing. Already have an RMA for it, and hopefully it...

PC Turns Off.....

I may have found the problem. Turns out it wasn't the unplugged hardware. I was on the PC this morning, and all of a sudden it turned off again. So I tried turning it back on, and it just turned back off. Same thing everytime. So I opened up the case, and started pulling hardware, starting with...

Negative, no one else has access to this PC. I have another one for everyone else's use ;) I checked the settings to make sure though. So far, for about 3 days now it hasn't done it again. I unplugged my 2 burners, and a webcam, to test power issues. Left it running for 2 days without any...

PC Turns Off.....

PC just turns off, no warning. That's the only evidence there is. It's happened about 5 times within the last 1-2 weeks. Most times when I'm not home, but 1 time I was near the pc and heard all the fans spinning down. Looked, and it was off. I've checked event log viewer, checked for a dump...

Help... SATA Hard Drive and NForce4

I have WD, Maxtor, and Seagate. They all seem to work fine with my nforce 4 board (Rev 1 of the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe). I didn't even need to load any SATA drivers during the XP install. Personally though, I'd prefer Seagate or WD over Maxtor though.

On my main system (XP Pro)- 7/18/2005 10:44:06 PM Other system (XP Pro) - 1/1/2004, 12:53:15 AM both still running smoothly (knock on wood) :D

Linksys Router

Can PC's and Macs coincide on the same network using a Linksys Router? I know someone who needs this so they can share the mac doc files so they can print it on the printer connected via the PC. At the moment, they use a floppy to transfer it the PC to print.

is it stupid to crossfire with an XTX?

I have a question about CF. In regards to SLI, when it first came out, hardly any games supported it. As SLI matured, more games became supported. Is Crossfire the same way, or is it designed to work with any game out the box, without the game or drivers specifically supporting it?

.BAT File Help

Is there anyway to do this? I made a .bat file that asks for a user/password of a networked PC using the /p switch, but I need it to hide the password when inputed? Is there some way to do this, integrating into the .bat?
