Don't! As far as I know PhenomI/II cores are soldered to the IHS. You will need to heat it up with a heatgun for it to be able to remove, which is a very dangerous operation. Hugh risk seperating the core from the FCPGA-package.

athlon64 reboots when running 3d apps

Try out your ram with MEMTEST86 aswell, to rule out memory errors. Let it run for a few hours.

Ohh, your setup is so much like mine. EpoX 8KHA+ Athlon 2200+ 2x256mb Crucial ram Creative Geforce3 ti 200 Well anyway, clear cmos as the above poster suggested. If that doesn't work you can always pull out everything and remount it. Make sure the ram and videocard are seated all the way into...

Did I just kill my CPU and mobo?

Have you tried to reset the BIOS on your system? You should also try to puch the ram and videocard a little harder, once you secured them with the clips. Just to be sure they are all the way in. Edit: If nothing else works it seems like ECS sent you a CPU killer.
