Ok, well I've made another discovery, that I am also the victim of an MUP.sys malfunction. Some google searching said that this is a known problem and now I need to know how I can boot up to a console and access C: drive by some other means than bootdisks or an XPCD both of which will not work.

System restarts when booting

Its impossible to boot the XP CD. I cannot boot into ANY mode and when it goes through loading filed from the XP CD, it will say starting windows and will come to a stop error IRQL_LESS_THAN etc error.

My system is now going nuts. I have not been able to get my computer to boot up a single time with 2 different hard drives. One is a Maxtor 20GIG ATA133 and would not boot, so I got a windows98 CD and ran fdisk and made a whole new partition and now windows setup will not run and the powermax...

A7N8X Hangs at post with pri. IDE connected

SB Audigy Platinum Popping

Ok, I've concluded that my Audigy PLatinum is popping when I hit buttons on my keyboard, IE typing, playing a game. What may cause this? Bad drivers???

Vid card for beginner workstation

Wow, there is an obvious performance diff. I would imagine though that a 5800FX would perform obviously better than the 4600? I guess my main question is would a $400 quadro (obviously a lower model but still more geared towards 3d animation etc) out perform a 5800Ultra...

So the FX5800Ultra Supermegabadass ... The 5800 Ultra would suffice? I figured that the rendering would be a major chunk of operation of the maching and it would mostly depend on CPU and memory which I think I have covered, and composition would be a vid card job that the 5800 wouldn't have too...

All that stuff except for video card is onboard, and I disabled it and still no cigar. I hooked only the slave up to the primary ide, and powermax still wouldnt recognize it. damn this sux
