I'm in CNY not WNY, but most stations here which you can access from snowmobile trails will have 91 ethanol free. Most sledders incl. me will skip on stations that don't have it.

Is Windows 8 really that bad? (Windows 7 user)

Upgrading to windows 8 will cause you a few minor annoyances for the first like 3-4 days. After which you probably won't notice any more. That said, I wouldn't upgrade from 7 unless you don't have a choice. It doesn't really add anything useful for desktop use. IMO of course.

Custom GPU WC Loop - Advice/Feedback?

I would put the pump after the GPU blocks, and the radiator right before the blocks. The pump itself is going to add 10-20 watts of heat. While this probably translates to less than a 1ºC temp swing, it still something for free.

+1 on shut it down and remove it to avoid the warning. You should be able to put that vmware drive file anywhere on any computer (even a windows computer with vmware installed). You will get a warning and may or may not need to reboot the virtual machine itself when moving between computers...
