Please Recommend A Good Socket 775 CPU Cooler

do the e6750s have a tjunction of 100 now? His temps very well could be 20/45, I get 44/62 with a quad-core at 3ghz using the AC Freezer Pro 7.

Sorry about that. I know that Speedfan measures 15 below, and it didn't control my case fans either, so I uninstalled it. I have been using both Core Temp and Thermal Analysis Tool, and they coincide to within about 2 degrees. i downloaded asus probe, but my bios isn't even up to date... haha...

Q6600 B3 @ 3 GHz

Yeah, a lot of the reviews called it an incredible value, and I must say I agree so far. It is idling below 45 (43-44) right now, and when I booted up Orthos after a day of chillin out it didn't go past 62 :)

Yes, you sound just like an ass. If you want a budget build to stay around 3GHz (higher if you have G0), stick with the AC FP7. If you can afford better, decide for yourself. I have a Q6600, B3 stepping @ 3 Ghz (original voltage 1.328), adjusted Vcore 1.3750 Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7...

Probably the best cheap cooler out there is the Artic Cooling Freezer Pro 7. It costs only 30-40 bucks. If you want to read a bunch of rave reviews of it, simply Google.

The 8800GTS have purevideo hardware, just not the next-generation version that is present in the 8500 and 8600. There are countless tests I found of them playing back HD content at full quality fine. And with an o/c-ed quad-core that would help too. I still don't quite understand what you are...

I started looking at this and it seems that the 8600 cards simply offload decoding strain from the CPU, whereas the 8800GTS does not. If I got the quad-core wouldn't I be fine with having more strain on the CPU? Game quality is important to me right now, I won't care about HD movies for about a...

Hmm, thanks for warning me about that. So would the ATI 2900XT be the best choice for me then? Is it compatible with future drives? I don't think I can afford really good memory and a mobo that goes over 800Mhz-rated, so I realized that the e6750 might not be good for my overclocking wishes...
