I bought my BF2 copy from CUSA this morning, then read this thead. So stopped by after work to pricematch to Frys. Had to wait in line forever but they matched it. $37.99 - $15 GC =
The company main name is Surplus Computers
They sell alot of refurb stuff so that could explain some issues of product confusion. As with any place that sells refurb stuff, buyer beware of description and reliability. The seem to do alot of business so they aren't a likely to foldup operations...
Cool deal! I had picked up both at Best Buy for $25 each few days ago but had not opened them yet. Went to Circuit City and I picked up both for $20 each in store. There were no price tags on either shelf, and the main game. The expansion was marked $29.99. Both rang up at the register for...
These sound like the boards used in the $200 "Internet Ready Multimedia PC" that Fry's advertizes every week. Bundled with a 30gb drive, 128mb ram, generic kb/mouse/case/cdrom/56k modem, and a linux OS, this is about as low end as you can get with NEW components regardless how much...
With the price of dvd-r media dropping I doubt you'll miss the HD Burn feature. I bought a Optorite in the middle of last year and have only used HD Burn a few times to test it on different media (not all cdr media is compatable).
Depending on shipping, this is the best price I've seen for this case. Normally sells for $50 and does not come with a PSU. I consider that a good thing because I'd rather add my own PSU then get some low grade generic PSU I'd never use.
Newegg has a bunch of site reviews links.
Pretty much it seems like all the "RK" = Retail Kit versions have only a 1 year warranty reguardless what the seagate site says. Seems like the OEM ones (ones without the retail packaging) have the 3 year warranties. I have 2 of the 160gb retail versions and they are sleightly louder than the...
The Arctic Cooling by all rights should be quieter. Arctic Cooling 1200/2400 rpm fan vs. the Vantec 6000 rpm fan.
The Compatability List says a new version release in February 2004 to support the 9600 (Pro, XT) boards.
There were 12 of them at the Redondo Beach, CA store. Picked up one since my old bag is starting to wear out and you can't beat the price. Salesman says they're a mid week limited promo that was advertized in the newspapers. The backpack is kinda small for my 15in screen notebook, but it's...
Price is now showing up at $86.
Found in the Afterdawn forums that someone linked a updated Optorite dd0203 compatability list supposedly from optorite tawain. On the list the Ritek G03's are rated to work at 2x. I'm going to order a sample pack for my dd0203 drive.
I've had mine for a month so far and have burned about 15 dvd-r's fine so far. Haven't used the hd-burn feature yet as I need to find compatible media. I got mine from PCSupplysource (NJ). Punch in "dd0203" on pricewatch and you can find a code to get it for $129 shipped.:)
I had no luck finding the new $80 rebate (9/6/03 to 9/13/03) after calling the CUSA customer service line and emailing their rebate center. I got lucky and was able to return the opened drive without the restock fee to the store after speaking to the manager. Stupid bait and switch tactics....
From the THG review it appears the GMC one has a package of extras, i.e. hdd selector, card reader, (4) 80mm fans, built-in bezel USB/firewire/sound ports, and "sound reduction technology".
