Is it just me or has the new PC games selection been very poor lately? Your list there are all old games.
I've played Oblivion, COD4 and COD5 on my 8800GTS 512MB with max settings except AA, which I usually keep at 2x. Runs perfect at 1680x1050. What does that tell you about gtx275 or 285...
I've tried out Teflon mouse feet before and they worked out pretty well, especially on wooden surfaces. Each set lasted me over a year. Purchased them from SVC.com several years ago.
However, since then I've purchased a nice cloth mousepad and have never had to use mouse feet again. The...
Hi guys,
I'm thinking about "upgrading" my current Intel Classic mobo to an Asus P5Q. I would prefer to just switch the two and boot since I'd like to keep all my old files and settings. I am a bit leery this would corrupt my Vista Ultimate installation, however. What are your experiences...
i've been searching for the answer to this question as well. it seems to be hit or miss, but you'll need to call MS and argue your case. anecdotal evidence that this isn't too hard.

Thanks for posting this...let's me know I'm not the only guy who hits his printer and broke it. Out of frustration, I gave my printer a few good punches topside... Well let's just say I sure shut it up :P
i received mine in about two months for an evga 7900gt. i didn't have to pester them or anything, just my luck i guess
however i do agree rebates suck...been avoiding them more and more recently. i mean, $15 AR for a wireless router w/ printer server and wifi finder sounds great, until you...
i just picked this up today, been using an mx1000 for quite awhile before.
first impressions:
pros
1) i enjoy the lower profile of the mx revo b/c it puts less pressure on the middle of my palm
2) i'm definitely a fan of the new scroll wheel...it's sooo much easier to scroll long...
i'm personally not a fan of stock coolers, but to each their own. i'd say, go ahead and rig it up with everything stock, and see how you like it. if it's too loud or the temps are too high, then you will need better cooling. plus you shouldn't be in any hurry about cooling...it will always be...
Ahhh....you forgot to allocate some money for cooling!
I always reserve at least $50 for good cooling...but up to $100 in your case, since you're using very good components. Think about spending $30-$50 for a quality CPU heatsink (something from Thermalright, Zalman, Cooler Master, etc). I...
easier read: Maximum PC
more in-depth/technical: CPU
gaming: Game Informer (I found this at a local Gamestop after they sold me a Game Card @ $14, which comes w/ a 1-year magazine subscription)
Bottom line: All three are good mags, just depends on your tastes.
For $15, I got a Steel Pad Qck+. It's a huge cloth mousepad. It works well with my MX1000. Go out and buy the Xtrac Dotz or some sort of Teflon mouse feet...it really makes a big difference.
I like cloth over hard surfaces because it is more comfortable against your wrist/forearm.
