New build--can't burn cds

I used the chipset drivers that came with the mobo--not sure the best place to acquire the latest updates? This? http://ee.giga-byte.com/produc...r/ga-ep45-ud3p_16.html I can't seem to get to Gigabytes official site. edit: It's an IDE instead of a SATA drive. I meant to get the SATA one...

New build--can't burn cds

Device manager lists the device as PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-118L SCSI CdRom Device. It's an IDE drive, running Vista 32 Home Mobo is a Gigabyte UD3P Can't burn anything--reads/plays discs fine. Burning in iTunes kicks back an unknown error immediately. Any ideas? I don't understand what...

Router not acquiring an IP

Reset button on the router I hadn't noticed before did the trick and I was able to acquire a new lease. Thanks!

Router not acquiring an IP

Linksys wrt54g router Okay, I have connectivity connecting straight into the cable modem. When I try to connect through my router, I can't pull an ip. /release /renew shows an Autoconfig IP of 169.254.40.27, dns 255.255.0.0. This does not route properly, and I should be getting 192.168.1.1...

What's the dumbest thing you've done as an experienced computer user?

I inverted the power connector on my new mobo without realizing it. Turned the new rig on. *sniff* So that's what burnt electronics smells like.

Lately my system has been freezing up--then resuming. Example: typing in word while listening to winamp, the whole system locks, the sound buzzes then resumes just fine. This is intermittant. It also happens during games. An odd thing started happening yesterday; it was as if my windows...

I'm on a plan from last year which I just renewed a month or so ago that they no longer have, so it doesn't seem possible for me to extend for one year through the website. I'm going to try calling tomorrow and telling them I just extended my plan and want the V600.

T:V is awesome! I never really got into t2, but t:v hooked me. BTW, it plays nothing like 2k4 ;) Definately worth a 40$ purchase.
