psu question

i'm thinking about buying a new power supply, and i was wondering if what i'm running now is good enough, its an Antec 450 watt smart power. Motherboard monitor says: +3.3: 2.62 to 2.66 +5: 4.81 to 4.92 +12: 11.43 to 12.10 -5: -5.09 to -5.04 -12: -12.77 to -12.44 are these numbers good or...

Do not buy a water cooling kit...water cooling for $48

i've seen otehr similar articles at overclockers and the modfatherz, and they will cool better than any kit that you buy, plus you have a better choice of products. most of you make your own computer, why not the water cooling kit also

Possible to UNDERclock my video card?

yes you can underclock it, just like a cpu, i've seen a few silent pc websites do it, changing the voltage will show you the most difference, you might want to take off the heatsink and just put an old socket a (cut down to size a little) on there. and make sure you have decent cooling

ReSeating a HSF inside the case

its safe to do it inside the case, as long as the pc isn't on at the time. Although i might suggest taking out the mobo because it is much easier to do out of the case than in the case, and since you didn't do it perfectly right last time, there is a better of a chance that it might not be...

mod, cut the hole so that it fits the 120, it would probably be easier to return it and get one that has 120mm fan mounts standard, 3700bqe is a good one.

shrugs, i dont have any fan smaller than 92 (cpu fan) and only 120's on the case. thats pretty much the only thing you can do to keep up good cfm while being quiet. dont think there is much you can do other than moving your pc or putting crap infront of the case to help block the sound.

they have 2 or possibly 3 different fans there, just check out their regular fans and see which best fits.

it seems tha we reply to each other within a min or so. Iguess you could try those noise dampeners that they sell, it would get rid of most of the noise made from vibration.

well it depends on how far away they measured the db either inches away or 3-4 feet away, also matter on the pitch of them. (yeah thats the only bitch about that stuff) i would have (and did) go for a case with 120mm fans instead of 80's

Any advice on keeping a fan quiet?

well if you want it quiet, you can always unplug it. although a better solution would be to replace it
