e4300 cant get above 275mhz on o/c

I think you are doing something wrong. Tell me these settings: vCPU, vDIMM, vFSB, vMCP, vSPP, PCI-e clock, RAM:FSB ratio, C1E, EIST, TM2, NX(executable) bit

CPU Cooler Suggestions

the TT would be more than enough to push the clocks of your new CPU to its max stable freq. You have very high(3.2-3.8GHz) hopes about the clocks. Anything above 3GHz would be impressive and beyond average.

The end of AMD

I wonder if nVidia can join the x86 race. I imagine nVidia to buy VIA, thus to get the x86 license without the need to brag about it. I'm sure nV is capable of making competitive CPU, if not the best.

ZM-STG1 or AS Ceramique?

Phenom: Effect of Memory Controller clock speed?

The NB and the HT are completely different things. The NB is a kind of a router, while the HT is a bi-directional point to point bus. The NB(northbridge) is conneced to the L2 of all 4 cores, to the L3, to the memory controllers and to the HT bus(es). Its frequency is not equal to the HT bus...

@myocardia It is the L3 and the NB running slower than the cores. @toslat If you want to know how K10 will perfrorm with a faster RAM: going from DDR2-800 do DDR2-1066 brings 0 to 5% performance improvement. Going from DDR2-1066 CL5 to CL4 brings less than 1%. Not enough to salvage Phenom...

Phenom vs. Conroe .

I think... This is a pure "paper launch". AMD will deliver few thousands Phenom 2.2GHz for X-mas, so they'll shut few mouths yelling about unavailability. I don't think AMD are going to reduce the prices enough to make the 2.2GHz worth more than a Q6600, since its much more expensive to produce...
