Can anyone recommend a good and free Windows tool for converting a .wav of some description into a u-law wav?
I need to do this to use the recording as a prompt in a auto attendant on a VOIP system.
Thanks!
No one has this wheel and this game? Or any other game that has caused a similar problem?
Better yet... does someone have this wheel and this game and have it working properly?
Thanks again.
I've had a play with Maya, 3D Studio Max, and Blender in the past. Even though they each have a different approach to perform certain operations, the fundamentals of 3D modelling are essentially the same.
Blender has the 'strangest' interface of the three in that it is much different to most...
Does anyone have a Logitech MOMO Racing Force steering wheel and have successfully used it in TOCA 3?
My wheel works great with Live For Speed. When the wheel is powered on it remains stiff, but once Live For Speed opens up the second light on the wheel comes on and it loosens up so you can...
Can anyone recommend a good and free application for securely wiping a SATA HDD?
I want to send a dodgy HDD back to the manufacturer for replacement but would like to make sure my data cannot be retrived.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
I retrieve my e-mail from my ISPs POP server using Thunderbird 1.0.7 and have had no problems for over 12months untill now.
I had 100 odd new messages to retrieve. Thunderbird got halfway through retrieving these messages and then started to chug on one of them for 30seconds or so. After this...
Well after some more fiddling around it turns out that I just needed to update to a newer version of my motherboard BIOS.
Now both drives are behaving as they should!
Thank you all for the suggestions.
I have tried fixmbr and fixboot but had no success.
After having a bit more of a search around I'm starting to think that the problems are due to the fact I'm trying to use 2 SATA HDDs. Does anyone know of any issues with using 2 SATA HDDs on a MSI K8N...
Anyone?
I'm sure this can't be too difficult. I'm fairly certain I have actually solved the same problem once in the past, I just can't remember how I did it!
I recently purchased a new SATA HDD to sit alongside my existing SATA HDD.
I want to have a fresh WinXP partition on the new drive so I went ahead and did that. Of course the problem is now that Windows wont boot off that drive (even if I remove the old one and put the new one into the SATA1...
Lonyo, I'm not yet sure whether it has started playing up due to natural causes or something else (potentially excess heat)
Have a look at these short threads to see a description of the problem I'm having:

I'm after a new 200Gb SATA HDD to replace my Maxtor 6Y200MO which has started dying.
I will get it replaced under warranty (but obviously I need a new one to put my data onto).
I need to buy a new HDD tomorrow but don't have time to do much research.
Whish disk would you buy... and why...
FlyingPenguin, Any suggestions in regards to Maxtor's software not working with the SATA controller on my motherboard?
Also, I was referring to the filter in the front of my case, not on the HDD itself. Since wiping all the dust/dirt off the case filter, the HDD is noticibly cooler.
