Well, that's the most obvious thought. The earnings report is going to be bad... real bad, which is why Rory was forced out. The idea that anyone might believe this has been planned is confusing to me. The writings on the wall, this was not planned as it was exectuted. Look at the SEC filings...

It's really all about Q3 earnings... seriously, putting aside some of us and our emotional attachement to AMD products, it's really all about performance. We will know soon enough, if AMD announces earnings growth, things will be fine, if AMD announces a loss of any amount... stick a fork in...

Cryptocoin Mining?

There are exceptions to everything. I'm just concerned for people, not just here, but personal friends I have whom have invested their savings into cryptocoins. both through hardware purchases and direct acquisitions. It's simply too risky. It should not be rewarded nor recommended.

Funny thing is, this proves, without a doubt that "virtual currency" is a terrible investment. This sort of thing will happen again and again. But yet, in a few weeks time, everyone will go right back to their happy little world where they believe they're gonna "get rich easy" with video...

Rumor is, DFI is bringing back the LanParty series.

I still have my DFI NF4 LanParty... loved it. I'd really enjoy seeing them back in the game. PS: I haven't heard the name Oskar in a long time! I still remember waiting on his beta bios releases to pop up. lol

When do you think DDR4 systems are going to become more mainstream?

Oh sure... I agree. Like I said, OEM's will be shipping PC's by 2015 I'd bet. Which means a lot of people will buy or build new PC's with DDR4 by the end of this year or early next year. But it's still going to be years before it's mainstream... ie, in the majority of PC's.

The problem is they're two entirely different cards. The Titan really isn't ideal for design/modelling over a 780 or 780ti, because it doesn't provide the stability and certification of a Quadro, or the OpenCL compatability of the quadro series, nor does it provide as many Cuda cores for...

Narrow LGA2011 socket heatsinks

Dynatron and Supermicro are going to be your best sources... they both offer several choices in narrow and square 2011. Passive and active. I use Dynatrons currently, sets of R15 and R17, neither of which are compatable with narrow 2011. BUT, they make comprable version for narrow...

Are you sure about this? I don't believe the Titan and 780ti have completely different chips... I'm pretty sure it's the same foundation with different features enabled/disabled. Financially it wouldn't make sense to design two entirely different GPU's that mirror each other in nearly...

Depends on how you define "mainstream". Technically as DDR4 isn't available yet, anything would make it more "mainstream". Or, are we talking before it's the "norm". If so, it'll be 4 or 5 years. Sure, OEM's will start shipping new PC's with DDR4 by what, 2015 probably... but, at the rate in...

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 790 and GTX TITAN Black Edition due in Q1 2014

The Titan Black Edition would be a very strange release... although, it could be with newer revisions of the GPU Nvidia has been able to return a higher yield with all functional cores, thus allowing for a slightly faster and more powerful Titan to be released. This might explain why it seems...

AMD Kaveri A10-7850 $100 Effective Microcenter MB Bundle

It's tempting at prices like this... the concept of a totally useable all in one, tiny little pc is calling my name. I might just have to... it'd be the first AMD product I've purchased in about 10 years. :D
