Monitor gone green

Nevermind, got it fixed. Had to switch the monitor's color input mode from YPbPr to RGB which is apparently what DVI uses but not what HDMI expects.

Ubuntu wpa not working

Ok everything seems to be working right now. I'm on my linux box with remote desktop. Now if I could figure out how to get the connection to transfer files at least as fast as my cable internet...

Ok I went into /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist and added ndiswrapper to blacklist, so now ra0 should stay there when I reboot. Will get the /etc/network/interfaces file when I can print it.

New problems, I had to reboot and my ra0 interface was gone, though there was a new wlan0 interface that appeared when I did ifconfig. I'm thinking part of the problem might be that that the system cant read the /etc/network/interfaces file. Whenever I try to ifup or ifdown, I get couldn't read...

Thanks for the instructions, thats exactly the kind of thing I needed. Ok I did everything and I should have the new drivers installed and working. I played with ifconfig and iwconfig like you suggested and I believe I have tracked my problem down to a weak wireless signal. iwconfig shows...

Almost done deciding on parts - need advice!

Looks ok but heres whats not worth it: E8400 - get the 7200, you can run 3Ghz stock vcore easy X38 - not worth it, get P35 mobo Corsair 750W - you aren't going SLI so the 450 Watt corsair will be plenty If thats a vista system get 4GB ram, by all means

Which 22" Dell?

Supposedly the SP2208WFP is the one to get from Dell. I've got a boxed one sitting in my room right now. I forget the performance stats but I think its a good deal with the integrated camera. I'll probably have my rig built by friday and can give firsthand impressions then if you still want to know.

The Corsair450vx does look like a better psu, but its $25 more. How long would it take to pay off the $25 at 85% efficiency VS 70 % efficiency? I'm probably doing this wrong but say it uses 200W at idle then 200/.7= 285, 200/.85 = 235 so a 50W saving at 10 cents a kilowatt hour would be...

site to site vpn (cisco 851W) with SDM urgent!
